The complete list of all the service packs for Windows operating systems and other supported Microsoft applications, that is obtained from the Central Repository Server during a Vulnerability Database update, is displayed in the Service Pack Information view.
To get to this view, click on the "Patch Information" tab. From here, click on the 'Service Packs' link in Service Pack Info table in the left panel of your screen.
In order to find a set of service packs for a particular category or product, you can use the filter provided in the view to search based on a Product Category (Windows 2000 Server, Internet Explorer 5.5, SQL Server 7 etc.) The search result will be displayed in the table below.
Clicking on the service pack name link (SP1, SP2 etc.) for each product, will display details of the service pack with the following information :
Clicking on the
icon in the
'Views' column in this screen, displays a report on the different patch
management tasks (SP Download & SP Install) scheduled for this service pack. If there are no tasks scheduled, then this icon is grayed out ![]()
The Service Pack Schedule Report displays a graph of the scheduled tasks, along with the tabular information about the SP.
Deploy a service pack to many systems - From the Service Pack Information view, you can deploy a service pack to multiple systems, one service pack at a time. Select the service pack you wish to install and click on the 'Deploy' button. This will display a screen wherein you will be able to see a list of systems, in which a selected service pack is missing and another list in which it is installed. Note that this list is based on the latest scan results in PatchQuest.
You can choose from the systems which require the selected service pack and click on the Deploy Missing Service Pack button.
Download - The 'Download Status' column will indicate whether a
service pack has been downloaded from the Microsoft site in the internet, and is
available in the PatchQuest server for deployment. This status is denoted by
.
If the service pack has not been downloaded, this icon will be grayed out. You can
initiate the download by selecting a service pack of interest and clicking on the
'Download' button. For more information, refer to Downloading
Service Packs section.
